Understanding pigmentation and melasma

Not all dark patches are the same
Post-acne marks, melasma, and sun-induced pigmentation look similar but respond to different treatments. Getting the diagnosis right matters more than the strength of the cream.
Sun protection is the treatment

Expect months, not weeks
- Improvement is usually visible after eight to twelve weeks
- Maintenance matters, melasma in particular tends to recur
- Aggressive shortcuts often cause rebound darkening
